Nimbus

Nimbus is a landing template for an open-source library or framework — the kind of page that has to win over a skeptical engineer in one scroll. A light, near-monochrome canvas with a single fresh violet accent puts the install line, a real usage snippet, and the social-proof badges (stars, weekly downloads, bundle size, licence) front and centre, so adoption signals are visible before any prose. It ships a token-coloured code example, a metric-led features grid (tiny, typed, zero-deps, tree-shakeable), a quiet "trusted by" wordmark row, and a community band that points contributors at good first issues.

Clean, light, engineered calm — an open-source library that earns trust with a real snippet and honest numbers, not hype.

the reactive store that gets out of the way

Reactive state in 3 kB.

Nimbus is a tiny, fully typed state library for JavaScript and TypeScript. One store(), no providers, no boilerplate — just values you read and update from anywhere.

$npm i nimbuscopy

cart.ts
import { store } from 'nimbus'

// one store, fully typed from its initial value
const cart = store({ items: [], total: 0 })

// re-render whenever the state changes
cart.subscribe((state) => render(state))

cart.set((draft) => {
  draft.items.push(product)
  draft.total += product.price
})

Small on purpose

Every kilobyte and every dependency is one you have to read, audit, and ship. Nimbus keeps the count low so the audit stays short.

3.1 kB
tiny

One small module, no runtime to ship around it. Smaller than the favicon on most marketing sites.

100%
fully typed

Types are inferred from your initial state — no generics to hand-write, no any leaking through updates.

0
dependencies

Nothing in node_modules but Nimbus itself. No transitive churn, no supply-chain surface to audit.

ESM
tree-shakeable

Pure ES modules with sideEffects:false, so bundlers drop everything you never import.

Design rules

The system, applied to any site

  • Stay light and near-monochrome: a cool near-white canvas (#FBFCFE) with pure-white panels (#FFFFFF), dark ink text (#0F1729), and reserve the single fresh violet accent (#6D4AFF) for the primary CTA, the install sigil, links, and code keywords — never as a full-bleed background.
  • Lead with the install line and social proof, not a photo: the hero centres on a copy-able "npm i nimbus" line plus a row of badge chips (GitHub stars, weekly npm downloads, minzipped size, MIT licence, TypeScript). Ship no images at all.
  • Set everything technical in monospace: the install line, the usage code card, badge metrics, sizes, and version numerals use a monospace stack (ui-monospace, SFMono-Regular, "JetBrains Mono", Menlo), while headings and body copy stay in a clean sans-serif (Inter).
  • Token-colour the code on a light surface: violet for keywords (import, const, return), cyan for function and method names, green for strings, amber for numbers, and desaturated grey for comments and punctuation — so the snippet reads like a real editor.
  • Favour hairline borders (#E4E8F0) and gentle 12px radii over heavy shadows; separate sections with thin rules and generous vertical rhythm, and let the mint-green secondary (#12B886) carry positive/“zero-deps” accents sparingly.
  • Keep copy honest and terse: real numbers in the badges, a usage example that actually runs, short imperative feature labels, and a community band that links to docs and good first issues rather than marketing filler.

Our story
“We started with one borrowed oven, a sack of flour, and the stubborn belief that bread tastes better when nobody’s in a hurry.”

Eight years on, we still mix every dough by hand, still proof it overnight, and still sell out by noon most days. Flour & Ember is run by the same two bakers who opened it — you’ll usually find us dusted in flour behind the counter.

— Mara & Tomás, founders & head bakers
