Loom

Loom is an autumnal, craft-first design system for artisan fashion labels and knitwear studios. A cream canvas, a muted field-toned hero and a rust accent give the store a slow, hand-made warmth, while a high-contrast serif paired with a clean sans keeps collections easy to read. The layout leads with a full-bleed hero overlaid by a large lowercase title, then hands off to a triptych of product cards that carry each piece as a woven swatch with its name and price, tied together by a thin "woven thread" rule.

Muted, tactile and premium — autumnal warm neutrals with a rust accent that make hand-made knitwear feel considered and unhurried.

The atelier

We knit slowly, so the wool has somewhere warm to end up.

Small runs

Every piece is knit in editions of forty or fewer, then re-cut only when the wool comes good again.

One mill

Undyed fleece spun and dyed in a single family mill in the border hills, traceable to the flock.

Made to soften

Finished by hand and blocked to shape, made to loosen and warm with every season worn.

The Loom letter

First look at each small run.

One unhurried note a season — new pieces, restocks and word from the mill. Nothing else.

Design rules

The system, applied to any site

  • Set the whole store on a warm cream canvas with a soft ink-brown text and a single rust accent, reserving the accent for prices, the woven rule and small marks so the palette stays quiet and hand-made.
  • Open with a full-bleed editorial hero rendered as a warm, muted autumn-field gradient (no photography needed) and overlay a large, near-lowercase serif title with a small SHOP / ABOUT / CONTACT + cart nav floating on top.
  • Build the shop around a clean triptych of product cards, each a woven-swatch tile in rust, dusty-pink or terracotta carrying the piece name and price, so three items read as a single considered edit.
  • Run a thin two-tone "woven thread" rule between sections as the signature motif — a hairline that ties hero, story and footer together.
  • Pair a high-contrast serif (e.g. Fraunces) for headings with a clean sans (Inter) for body and product details, and keep corners modest (~10px) with generous, unhurried whitespace.
  • Write copy in a slow, tactile voice — fibres, seasons and small-batch making — and use plausible, specific product names and prices to feel like a real atelier.
