Formwork

Formwork is a premium furniture & home-goods catalogue template in the spirit of the great design houses (Menu, HAY, Ferm Living). A warm paper-white canvas carries a sticky wordmark nav with a slim category bar, a photographic collection banner, and — as the centerpiece — a dense, browsable product grid: filterable-looking category chips over twelve photographed product cards, each with a real resolving interior photo, a catalogue number, name, material spec and price. Around the grid sit a shop-by-collection strip, a materials-and-making story block, a newsletter / visit-showroom call to action, and a four-column footer. A signature "index tick" motif — a small monospace catalogue number paired with a short accent hairline — labels every section and product so the whole page reads like a paginated lookbook. Fully palette-recolorable via the live Studio and calm by design, with no animation beyond gentle hover lifts.

Warm, editorial and considered — a paper-white design-house catalogue where photography and honest materials do the talking, accented by terracotta and sage.

No. 03 · Materials & Making

We start with the material, not the mood board.

Every piece in the catalog is drawn from a short list of materials we know how to source responsibly and repair for decades. The look follows from that discipline.

No. 01

Solid, oiled hardwood

European oak, walnut and ash — cut from FSC-certified forests, finished with a plant-based oil that ages rather than wears.

No. 02

Natural, undyed textiles

Boucle, felted wool and linen woven in small mills, chosen for how they soften over a decade of daily use.

No. 03

Honest, repairable metal

Powder-coated steel and brushed brass with exposed, serviceable joinery — every fixing is meant to be undone.

Design rules

The system, applied to any site

  • Anchor the page on a warm paper-white canvas with a single white product surface, hairline sand borders, and soft low shadows — let large, well-shot photography carry the color rather than flooding blocks with accent fills.
  • Make a dense, browsable product grid the centerpiece: many equal cards, each a 4:5 photo over a category label, serif product name, one-line material spec, price and a quiet add control; category chips above read as filters (one active, the rest outlined).
  • Thread an "index tick" motif — a short accent hairline beside a monospace catalogue number (No. 01, No. 02…) — through every section and every product so the page reads as one paginated lookbook.
  • Reserve terracotta as the single hot accent (active chip, primary buttons, ticks) and sage as a cool secondary label; keep body copy calm at warm muted brown and never let two accents fight in the same element.
  • Pair a high-contrast serif display face for headings and product names with a neutral sans body and a system monospace for catalogue numbers and eyebrow labels; round containers to ~16px and keep motion to gentle hover lifts and a slow image zoom only.
