Commerce

Lustre

Lustre is a refined, light-on-its-feet commerce template for fine jewelers and luxury goods makers. It leans on generous negative space, a fine serif display face and one disciplined gold accent so that a handful of beautifully shot pieces carry the page. An editorial hero, a quiet product grid and a craftsmanship band trade hard-sell for restraint, treating the storefront more like a gallery than a catalogue.

Hushed and expensive — cream paper, near-black serif ink and a single gold accent, with the pieces given room to glow.

The Atelier

Made slowly, by people who sign their work.

I

Cut by hand

Every stone is chosen loose and set under loupe by one of three bench jewelers — no two settings leave the atelier quite the same.

II

Made to keep

Solid gold throughout, never plated, finished to a depth that ages slowly and can be reworked or re-set for the next person to wear it.

III

Traced to source

Recycled gold and stones with a named origin, each piece leaving with a hand-written note of where its material began.

Material & Provenance

Recycled solid gold, stones with a named origin, and a hand-written note of where each began — so the story is as durable as the piece.

Design rules

The system, applied to any site

  • Lead with negative space: keep wide cream margins and tall vertical rhythm so a single ring, a price or a line of serif copy can stand alone and read as precious rather than merchandised.
  • Restrict colour to a warm near-black ink on cream paper plus one muted gold accent (#B08D4C); reserve gold for hairline rules, active nav, small-cap labels and prices — never flood it.
  • Set every headline in a fine high-contrast serif (Cormorant Garamond) at large sizes and tight leading, with crisp letter-spaced sans for nav, labels and prices, so display and chrome stay clearly separate.
  • Photograph product against the same cream field with macro lighting; place one striking image in the hero and treat each grid piece as a quiet specimen on its own card, never a busy collage.
  • Stay quiet and tactile: 2px corners, hairline borders, no drop shadows or gradients on photos, small uppercase eyebrow labels and slow, restrained hover states only.
  • Let copy whisper, not shout: short editorial sentences about material, craft and provenance instead of discounts or urgency, with prices small and understated beside each piece.

Baked fresh every sunrise

Warm bread, slow mornings, a kinder kind of breakfast.

A small neighborhood bakery turning honest flour, patient time and a hot oven into crusty loaves, buttery pastries and the best excuse to leave the house early.

Today: Country Loaf

$8

Stone-milled flour, 24-hour rise. Out of the oven at 7am.

Today’s bakes

A short, ever-changing list. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

Stone Country Loaf

$8

Stone-milled wheat, 24-hour cold rise, blistered crust.

Brown-Butter Croissant

$5

Laminated by hand, folded thirty-six times, shatteringly flaky.

Honey Rye Bun

$4

Dark rye crumb, wildflower honey glaze, toasted caraway.

Our story
“We started with one borrowed oven, a sack of flour, and the stubborn belief that bread tastes better when nobody’s in a hurry.”

Eight years on, we still mix every dough by hand, still proof it overnight, and still sell out by noon most days. Flour & Ember is run by the same two bakers who opened it — you’ll usually find us dusted in flour behind the counter.

— Mara & Tomás, founders & head bakers
