Bistro

Bistro is an elegant fine-dining design system for restaurants, bistros and cocktail bars. It pairs a classic serif for headings with a clean sans body over deep forest-green and wine-dark backgrounds, lit by a single warm gold accent and hairline dividers. Considered spacing and dotted leader lines give the menu the quiet, tasteful polish of a printed bill of fare.

Our Story

A small room,
a long table

We opened with one idea: cook honestly, pour generously, and let the room go quiet around good company. The walls are deep green, the brass is kept warm, and the candles are lit before the first guest arrives.

Everything but the cellar is made in-house, daily, by a kitchen that would rather do a few things beautifully than many things well.

Design rules

The system, applied to any site

  • Keep backgrounds in the deep forest-green and wine-dark family; reserve gold strictly for prices, small highlights and primary calls-to-action.
  • Pair a classic serif (Cormorant Garamond) for headings and dish names with a clean sans (Inter) for descriptions and body to balance elegance and legibility.
  • Lay out the menu in two columns of dish rows: name and price on one line joined by a faint dotted leader, with a smaller muted description beneath.
  • Separate sections with thin hairline gold or border-color dividers and small uppercase, wide-tracked section labels rather than heavy boxes.
  • Keep corners barely rounded (4–8px), use restrained warm shadows, and let generous vertical whitespace and large serif headings carry the sense of occasion.
