Our story

How two strangers became us

We met on a rainy Tuesday in a little bookshop on Fillmore Street, both reaching for the last copy of the same novel. Julian offered to flip a coin for it; Amara suggested we share a pot of tea and read it together instead. We have been turning the pages side by side ever since.

Five years, two apartments, one very opinionated rescue dog and a great many slow Sunday mornings later, Julian proposed at the top of the orchard hill where we now cannot wait to be married. Thank you for being part of our story.

Build every surface on a warm ivory base and reserve the dusty-rose accent for names, the RSVP button and a single focal moment per section so it always reads as tenderness, never noise.
Set headlines in a graceful, high-contrast serif with generous line-height; lead the hero with the two first names joined by a large delicate ampersand and the date stated immediately beneath.
Use small uppercase, wide letter-spaced eyebrow labels (the date, "Our story", "The day") above serif section titles to add quiet structure and ceremony.
Keep radii small (2-4px) and borders hairline-thin in a warm tone; let airy negative space and centered layouts carry the intimate, unhurried feel.
Wherever a second photo is not used, fall back to soft tinted blush blocks rather than repeating an image, so the page stays light and breathable.
Give the RSVP band a clear, calm form with labeled fields and a single solid dusty-rose submit button so the one action guests must take is unmistakable.

Eight years on, we still mix every dough by hand, still proof it overnight, and still sell out by noon most days. Flour & Ember is run by the same two bakers who opened it — you’ll usually find us dusted in flour behind the counter.
